  • More than an employee – you’re part of the team

Being an STA team member is so much more than a job. You can look forward to working with a supportive team, where your experience and skills are valued. You’ll work alongside some of the industry’s best and have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities to help you along your career path.

  • What to expect as an STA Traffic Controller

You can expect to work with some of the most professional and experienced Traffic Controllers and Team Leaders in the field - experienced staff who are willing to train you and develop your knowledge. You’ll also have the support and encouragement of our friendly Operations team and Management who are here to help and guide you.

  • Understanding the requirements of the job

Factors such as weather, timelines, and site-specific induction requirements mean that Controllers are not guaranteed consistent work and are employed on a casual basis. If you are willing and eager to take on any shift, no matter how short notice or location, then we are happy to enroll you into site-specific inductions and invest in your future. We will assess this during your probation period.

Traffic Controlling can be physically demanding. You may be required to stand up for over 8 hours, lift and hold heavy signage and work in all weather conditions. To find out more about the requirements of the role, please contact us.

  • Working at STA comes with plenty of perks

You’ll enjoy the benefits of ongoing training and development opportunities, team-orientated culture and support, and an inclusive, friendly environment – even dogs are welcome in our office.

We offer a weekly pay cycle; day, night, weekend and public holiday shifts, and you’re protected by a strong EBA that was voted on by STA employees.

You will be fitted with appropriate PPE and have access to our modern, well-maintained fleet. In some cases, there may also be an opportunity to take a vehicle home with you.

  • What we expect of you

The work we do is 24/7, 365 days a year. We look for flexibility, reliability, availability, eagerness to learn, a can-do attitude and excellent customer service skills in our staff. Because you will be dealing with members of the public and clients daily, your professionalism must be second to none. You will have valid traffic control tickets, White Card and PPE as well as a two-way radio. This is a fast-paced industry, so you will need to be job-ready.
